The Radio Festival is a first-of-its-kind initiative that brings together all three tiers of – public, private and community radio – along with podcasters and others invested in the audio space, to celebrate sound.
The 5th edition of the festival provides a unique opportunity for participants to have stimulating conversations, exchange innovative ideas and participate in a host of exciting activities that seek to increase civic participation and strengthen ownership of SDGs.
SMART is launching the Community Media Alliance (CMA), a proposed alliance of community media practitioners in the Global South across radio, print, digital, and social media platforms. CMA brings together media professionals who work within communities to provide essential, critical, and credible information that enables people to make informed decisions and build a better future.
The Gender Equality Fellowship Program is a 10-month program for youth to train them in reporting local stories on the Hinsa Ko No project that promotes SDG 5 and aims to work towards gender equality via community radios. It will provide an opportunity to create gender-sensitive reporters at the community level, who can highlight stories on the socio-cultural context within the gender space.
